MEET OUR Instructors

Kendall Stagaard
Kendall Stagaard is extremely excited to be part of the new Porch Light team. She has trained in dance since the age of three and began teaching classes and summer camps by age thirteen at Summit School of Dance in Summit, NJ. In 2004, she became the first recipient of the Tyler Berntsen Memorial Scholarship for showing outstanding athleticism, grace, and skill in her dance experience. She also was chosen to be part of the elite competitive dance team at her studio. The team participated in several competitions including a performance in Orlando at Disney World's Magic Kingdom. Kendall is a recent graduate of James Madison University where she received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and completed a minor in Dance. She also has a passion for singing and was the President of her all-female collegiate a cappella group, Note-oriety.

Kendall currently teaches Broadway Dance and beginner Hip Hop classes at Porch Light. Recent choreography credits include Porch Light's Academy Production of Disney's High School Musical. She is currently choreography Annie at Glen Rock High School.

Ryan Pifher

Ryan Pifher
Ryan founded Porch Light Productions in April of 2005. Since its opening, Porch Light has produced three professional productions, four children's productions, a sketch comedy group, an educational tour, and acting classes for children. Ryan has worked as an actor, producer, director, writer, and technical engineer for over ten years. He holds degrees from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy and The New School University, both located in New York City.

Ryan's work has been showcased all across the United States and has appeared in many Off-Broadway, television, and film productions. Ryan has also been an arts educator for Orchard Elementary School for over six years where he has produced a variety of productions (including Shakespeare abridged). Ryan's work was also chosen to perform for a Prejudice Education Festival sponsored by the governor of New Jersey.

Tristan Luysterburg

Tristan Luysterburg
Tristian Luysterburg is a native of Tampa, Fl and recently moved to the Tri-State area in the fall of 2009. As an accomplished accompanist, performer, musical director, and recent graduate of the University of West Florida she holds a B.A. in Music Performance/Teaching Spec. as well as, a B.A. in Theatre. Her favorite roles to date are Asaka in Once on This Island and Ilona Ritter in She Loves Me. In addition to performing, she co-founded, musically directed, and accompanied the university's only Musical Theatre Troupe created for educational outreach and recruitment efforts. Her musical direction credits include Godspell Jr., Seussical, Around the Pond in 80 Days, Into the Woods, Goblin Market, As You Like It, and Guys and Dolls. Ms. Luysterburg is the musical director at First Reformed Church of Hawthorne and a cantor at St. Brendan R.C. Church in Clifton. She is thrilled to be part of the Porch Light Productions team and looks forward to a successful year!

Tristan teaches voice lessons at Porch Light and is the Musical Director for PLP's Academy Junior productions.
