Porch Light's Spring 2010 Playwrights Festival will feature original One Act plays from regional talents, including:

Friday, April 30

"Chance" by Brian Patrick
The story of family being strangers and strangers being the only family that each other has. Do things happen for a reason or just by chance? How many chances do we get in life?

Saturday, May 1

"Rocked" by Lisa Paterson
Roxy has been waiting alone in a cheap motel room off Interstate 19 in southern Arizona for her boyfriend Tommy. He has abandoned her before, but this time is different. Can Tommy charm his way back into her heart or has she had enough of his self absorbing ways? Come get ROCKED and find out.

"Skin Deep" by Mary Lynn Dobson
Just because it glitters, doesn't mean it's pretty. SKIN DEEP is a somewhat scathing comedy that focuses on the world of child beauty pageants. The setting is the Young Miss All American Pageant where a documentary is being filmed that focuses on three pageant moms, Brittany's Mom, Amber's Mom, Cristal's Mom as well as two pageant directors and a seasoned beauty queen. SKIN DEEP takes a biting look at how the edges are blurred as to what should be classified as "pageant fun" and what should be classified as money-making exploitation.

A Night (or Two) at Porch Light Theatre

Who said New York City is the only place to catch great live theater? Since 2005, Porch Light Productions has been staging plays and musicals right here in New Jersey, and moved into a permanent space in Glen Rock last year. This weekend marks its first ever Playwrights Festival. read more »
