Porch Light’s extensive educational department makes it so much more than your average theatre company. Our theatre, dance and music programs provide high caliber performing arts education in a fun and supportive environment. Students have the opportunity to work with experienced arts educators in a variety of programs, each focused on encouraging students to express themselves positively and find true enjoyment in the arts. At Porch Light, we believe in harnessing the inner creativity in all of us and allowing it to shine through.

Academy Performance Programs
These unique programs are designed to educate young artists in the various aspects of the performing arts while enhancing confidence and creative work on stage. Academy programs are structured 6 or 8-week sessions, meet twice per week and culminate in a full-scale production of a popular Broadway show. These weekly classes are focused on developing and enhancing the techniques necessary for a successful performance. Students work in a small group environment, learning the fundamentals of acting, vocal performance, movement, etc, while gaining confidence and improving stage presence. Studio classes including introductory to advanced acting, instrumental performance, adult fitness and much more. YPT is a one-of-a-kind triple threat program for young actors dedicated to their training. Members of this elite company are selected by audition and receive advanced training in acting, voice and dance. Students participate in various performance opportunities throughout the season including in-house shows, original productions, industry showcases, public appearances and competitions. Private and semi-private lessons are available for all age and experience levels in voice, acting, audition techniques, industry coaching, and instrumental (guitar, piano/ keys, bass, saxophone, drums). Porch Light offers a variety of special programs designed to introduce students to new classes or enhance skills in specific areas. Specialty programs are often scheduled on school breaks and weekends. Workshops for organized groups such as girl/boy scouts are scheduled upon request.
